Sustainability is an economic, social, and environmental concept that involves meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Since we are in an industry that by and large has an impact on what happens with the waste from buildings and derelict structures, we have decided to take a leading role in managing this waste so that we can maximize reuse and recycling and as a result reduce the quantities landfilled.
Matcon Demolition waste control strategies involve taking an inventory of the buildings during the bidding process so that we can offer the best value to the customer. Once we are on site performing the work we further refine the potential inventory of recyclable items and begin the process of planning the dismantling and salvage operations. All useable equipment is removed from the buildings prior to commencing work, then we begin the task of dismantling, separating and recycling. Matcon Demolition offers detailed waste analysis on all of our projects so that clients, architects and planners can achieve LEEDS targets for their projects.
In the end, our sites are cleaner and safer as a result of the planning and we are actively doing our part to promote sustainability.
